The Los Angeles Contemporary Archive (LACA) is a public archive and library focused on contemporary art-making. By building archival collections with artists and artist-centered organizations, LACA moves towards understanding, rupturing, and celebrating a communal art practice and life that counters values overdetermined by wealth creation that sustain historical inequities.
LACA received programmatic funding for Gleaning the Archives, which is a proposed artist-archival collection that gathers ephemera from artists who are engaging in climate issues, eco feminism, and trash politics in order to create an educational and searchable index.
