IN Series is 40 year-old grassroots arts organization working deeply at home to create change in the lives of local artists, our audiences, and our community.

IN Series received support for ETHIOPIA, a unique performance project bringing together young Black artists in the creation of a new work based on historic sources and centered in Blackness. The project sits at the nexus of faith and global justice, bringing together music and theater traditions with diverse international visual and performance artists – and is a unique opportunity for IN Series to partner with Washington, DC’s large Ethiopian community across diverse cultural experiences and histories. This project resurrects the 1937 Living Newspaper play ETHIOPIA about the world’s response to the violent colonization of Africa.
