The Writer’s Garret is a literary organization based in Dallas, TX. Founded in 1995 as a grassroots literary space for the then-burgeoning Dallas literary community, the organization has since supported thousands of writers and countless literary enthusiasts through its mission of connecting people through the imaginative power of language. The Garret envisions a community that recognizes the intrinsic creativity and curiosity of all people; that supports a vibrant literary culture that welcomes and encourages diverse perspectives and experiences; and recognizes Dallas as an emerging literary leader in the region, state and nation.
The Writer’s Garret received general operating support to increase their development capacity through a part-time development position, leveraging their activities to support programming during the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
